Flexible support packages
The Flexible Support Packages (FSP) program provides critical funding to support women, children and others who have experienced family violence.
The program provides case managers with access to funding to support their clients to move out of crisis, stabilise and improve their safety, while also promoting recovery, wellbeing and independence.
To access FSP funds through Women’s Health West, clients have to be case managed by a service in the western metropolitan region of Melbourne. Applications can be submitted by case managers only.
The program covers costs associated with relocation or security upgrades, employment or education costs, access to support such as counselling, and a range of other resources designed to meet goals identified by the client.
FSP outcomes need to be linked to current case plans. In addition to the risk assessment, current case management case plan and/or safety plan, FSP applications need to identify ways in which a flexible support package intends to support a client to:
- Establish sustainable arrangements that support their long-term health and wellbeing.
- Prevent an intervention by child protection.
- Leave their current family arrangements in which family violence is occurring.
The program is administrated by Women’s Health West on behalf of cohealth, McAuley Community Services for Women, Elizabeth Morgan House, MacKillop Family Services and InTouch, as members of the Western Integrated Family Violence Partnership Governance Group.
