Annual General Meeting 2017

Our 2017 AGM and Annual Conversation was a tremendous success!

We now have a video of the conversation available for those who want to relive it, or who weren’t able to make it to the event back in November.

See the highlights video below, or visit our YouTube channel to view the video of the whole conversation (which is captioned).

Women’s Health West’s annual general meeting will be held on Wednesday 29 November 2017 from 4.00pm at Footscray Community Arts Centre, 45 Moreland Street, Footscray.

The Annual General Meeting

The annual general meeting will receive previous minutes and reports, and conduct the election of board directors.

Section 9.2 of the constitution provides for nine positions on the board.  This year, there will be four continuing directors, two directors nominating for re-election, two directors nominating as co-opted members, and one director retiring:

  • Samantha Merrigan (continuing)
  • Catherine Harding (continuing)
  • Nicola Rabot (continuing)
  • Elaine Montegriffo (continuing)
  • Maria Di Gregorio (re-nominating)
  • Mimmie Ngum Chi Watts (re-nominating)
  • Maree Mattner (nominating as a co-opted member)
  • Jennifer Irvin (nominating as a co-opted member)
  • Lara Rafferty (retiring having served three terms)

WHW has not declared any vacant positions to the board, however expressions of interest from eligible members for positions on the board are welcomed. Further information is available here, or contact Sam Merrigan via Women’s Health West on 9689 9588.

Notice of special resolution

We ask that members take note of proposed changes to the WHW constitution, which will be proposed as a special resolution at the AGM. Members in attendance will be asked to vote on these changes.

Read the Notice of Special Resolution in full here (pdf).

The conversation

Following official AGM business, we will be holding our annual conversation. The conversation is a chance to hear from a panel of insightful, dynamic speakers, who this year will be discussing the topic ‘Why be happy when you could be normal?’ – perspectives on feminism and disability.

The topic will see four women who are living with a disability discuss their experiences, and their different perspectives on the topic. We’re incredibly excited and honoured to be hosting such a range of wonderful speakers; we hope you can join us for what will undoubtedly be a thought-provoking discussion.
