A review of the literature
This literature review explores the health status and health inequities of women, including transgender women, who sell sexual services in Australia.
First, the review briefly sets out the legal and policy context regarding sex work in Australia.
Second, the methods used to conduct the review are detailed.
Third, the findings are presented that focus on the sexual and reproductive health of sex workers and explore the socioeconomic, political and cultural context, daily living conditions, and individual health-related factors, as per the ‘Fair foundations: The VicHealth Framework for health equity’ (VicHealth, 2015).
