Research enables us to improve our own work, share our learning with government and other agencies, and advocate for change on key issues of women's health, safety and wellbeing. The way we do research is as important as its outcomes. We take a strongly feminist, action research-based approach to our research in the community.

This major action research project explores issues of emotional wellbeing for young mothers in Melton, in partnership with Djerriwarrh Community Health Services and a range of other agencies.
This innovative community-based research explored issues of family violence in Somali and Eritrean communities in the Western Region, with a view to providing better services to these communities.
A detailed and comprehensive analysis of health needs in the Western Region, of interest to government, services, students and the community.
Draws on data from police, services courts, government and researchers to explore the nature and extent of family violence in the region.
Women and gambling
Women's Health West has done a great deal of indepth research on women and gambling in the Western Region, particularly through the 'Healthy, Wealthy and Wise Women' project.

We publish health promotion resources in English and various community languages, our quarterly newsletter, information kits, reports and more.
