Women's Health West publications for sale include booklets, information kits, research reports and audiovisual materials. Many are aimed at service providers in the Western Region and more broadly. Some will interest service users, students and interested community members. We also produce free cards, brochures, booklets and AV materials.
To order our publications, please print and fill in the publications for sale, indicating the publications you want and quantities. Prices do not attract GST unless indicated. Power On - is an innovative strength based program for mental health service providers working with women who experience a mental illness. This manual is now available to agencies in the western region of Melbourne that develop a partnership with WHW to deliver Power On.

Family Harmony: Understanding family violence in Somali and Eritrean communities in the Western Region of Melbourne 2005. This innovative research project explored understandings of and attitudes towards family violence within communities, as well as how ethno-specific and mainstream services can better meet the needs of these communities. Measuring the Tides of Violence: current family violence data for the Western Region of Melbourne (2003). Report drawing on data from the ABS, police, courts, crisis and other services, to paint a detailed picture of the extent and nature of family violence in the Western Region. Cost: $10.00 INCL GST. Choosing Positive Paths: Information Kit for Parents concerned about their children who have experienced family violence (2003) This kit comprises 10 four-page brochures, with a range of information for parents including tips, common strategies for dealing with children of different ages, from babies to teens, plus resources and agencies that can help. download the kit from this website.
A Gender Agenda: Planning for an Inclusive and Diverse Community (2002) This kit is a resource for health professionals for enhancing gender sensitive practices in community health planning, service delivery and evaluation. Cost: $25.00 INCL GST

Healthy, Wealthy and Wise Women (2000) The health impacts of gambling on women in the Western Region. Cost: $12.50
Who Picks Up The Tab? (1999) Issues and dilemmas for services providing mainstream support to women affected by gambling in the Western Region. Cost: $8.00
Who Wins? (1997) A report on the women and gambling in the Western Region. Cost: $7.00
"Talking Health" Resource Kit (2001) This kit was produced to support Talking Health workshops on the topic of migrant and refugee women and depression in the context of resettlement. Cost: $15
"Talking Health" Tape Cassettes (2000) An innovative health promotion project involving women from the relevant communities in the selection of priority health issues and the preparation of culturally appropriate information in their own languages. WHW has very minimal copies of the Bosnian and Somali cassettes, however Arabic language tapes are still available on (A) Depression in the context of Resettlement, and (B) Asthma and Allergies. Cost: $6 per copy.
