Women's Health West's Strategic Plan sets the forward directions for our work and approach for 2004–2008. Our organisational vision spearheads our efforts, energy, resources and talent. We aspire to advance the health, safety and wellbeing of women through practical, action-oriented initiatives with measurable outcomes.
In April to June 2004 we engaged in a comprehensive process to develop our Strategic Plan. We took a multi-pronged approach, aiming to achieve a relevant, informed Plan and a sense of engagement and ownership across the organization.
First we reviewed a wealth of key information, including demographic and health data, Department of Human Services and other relevant policies, and Community and Municipal Public Health Plans. We conducted stakeholder interviews with local government, Divisions of General Practice, Primary Care Partnerships, community and primary health services, settlement services, family violence and homelessness services, and policy-makers in primary and community health, community care and homelessness.
We held a series of workshops to involve our Board and staff in reflecting on the information gathered and contributing their knowledge and experiences to the development of our strategic directions.
